This recipe that uses almonds instead of breadcrumbs, which is a healthier alternative to the Muhammara Spread, will surely add a pleasant flavor to your breakfast tables.

The recipe can be further altered by using walnuts instead of almonds and seasoning with different spices of choice.


  • 300 g dried tomatoes 
  • 1 cup almonds 
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 4 tbsp pomegranate molasses 
  • Salt, pepper
  • Cumin and thyme

Soak the dried tomatoes in warm water to soften them for a while, then drain the water before continuing with the recipe. But if the tomatoes come in oil or sauce, just strain the liquid. After that place all the ingredients into the food processor and process them all at once. Then bring them together in a bowl and mix them with a spoon until it reaches a homogeneous consistency. After this the Almond Muhammara is ready to be served.
